We will focus mainly on the more challenging spots in the repertoire, but will have a chance to run through every piece by the end of rehearsal. Please plan to have a special look at the following music in advance:
- Parks - "but sometimes I worry"
- This piece has a lot of tricky rhythms/entrances. This will be the bulk of our rehearsal time.
- There's a VERY clear youtube recording, which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9j9Dvvmv2w
- Thompson - "America Will Be!"
- Many different languages, body percussion, lots of aleatoric moments. Soli will be assigned in the coming weeks.
- There's a very effective recording by Tonality on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHgPDDd9OEc
- Casulana - "Aura che mormorando"
- Dense, 5-part Renaissance Polyphony. 4-part (12 voice) section in middle.
- The only recording I could find (and it's great!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u73rauu-edw
- Robles - "Can You See?"
- Not too tricky overall, but some interesting rhythms and tonal shifts.
- Tonality has another great recording of this one: https://youtu.be/Cbzhgca1gYQ?si=VFmxMkCjZ3eMkjv3
We will have short breaks throughout but will not have time for a full lunch break. Please plan accordingly.
