KEVIN CROUCH
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Composer and Conductor Kevin Crouch is the founder and artistic director for DUALIS. Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ball State University, where he specialized in Vocal/General Music Education, studying under Don Ester. Kevin went on to earn his Masters of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from Temple University, where he studied under Paul Rardin, Mitos Andaya-Hart, and Rollo Dilworth.
Kevin has been an educator since 2015, when he was hired as Choir Director at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, MD. Kevin focuses on exposing students to the beauty of life through the aesthetic experience. In order to bring this experience into his classroom, Kevin has collaborated with numerous professional groups such as Variant 6 and Columbia Pro Cantare, and with renowned clinicians including Stephen Holmes, Kenneth Elpus, and Matthew Glandorf. Kevin performs regularly with professional and amateur groups alike, frequently appearing with groups such as Elevation, Mastersingers of Wilmington, Washington Master Chorale, and Grace and St. Peter's Church - Baltimore. As a composer, Kevin shows great diversity and ingenuity. Well-versed in the choral repertoire, Kevin writes traditional choral music infused with techniques derived from modern technical metal, creating fresh, exciting, and multi-faceted works. His compositions have been performed at numerous churches in the Baltimore area. Kevin has been the recipient of such prestigious awards as the Elaine Brown Tribute Award, the Presser Scholarship for Musical Achievement, the Douglas D. Amman Scholarship for Choral Involvement, and the CMENC Outstanding Future Music Educator Award. In 2019, he received the Howard County Parents for School Music "Music Educator of the Year" award. |
